Fergusonite

Fergusonite is a mineral comprised of a complex oxide of rare earth elements. The chemical formula of this mineral is (Y, RE)NbO4. Yttrium is usually the most dominant, but sometime, Cerium or Neodymium is the most dominant. This mineral has tetragonal, and the same structure as scheelite. It is found as needle-like prismatic crystals in Pegmatite

Naming

This mineral was named after Robert Ferguson of Raith.
